Arsian Involved in Uncovering Prescription Forgery Ring

A member of Ars Technica and pharmacy worker is in the middle of uncovering a prescription forgery ring. This first-part-of-many involves how the questionable prescription was brought under suspicion, flagged, and then traced to several other forged prescriptions. So far the biggest single illegal scrip involves 1000 OxyContin pills dispensed from WalMart, with an estimated street value of $1 per milligram.

On the Pharm is a good read, even without the cloak and dagger drug ring bust going on. I’ve been reading it for a few weeks, and I know some of the Gibberish readers may be interested to see what pharma is like from a perspective other than a biotech customer.
