Battlestar Galactica may find Earth in season four
Variety online is reporting that the television show Battlestar Galactica will come to a close at the end of the fourth (next) season. Season four will consist of twenty-two episodes. Hopefully they will run concurrently and not in the split-season format that irritated viewers the previous seasons.
It’s inevitable; the crew has to either find Earth or not. The story arc has a (historically) well defined start to finish. I knew that the show couldn’t last forever, but I hope that they will have enough time to tie up all the loose ends.
Things I am particularly interested in finding out about:
- Is Starbuck a Cylon or not?
- Will the Cylon-human babies have some sort of heightened potential? I am afraid they are going to have to pull a V and make the baby grow at an accelerated rate if they want to demonstrate anything in a single season.
- I’d really like to know more about the hybrids, what Lucy Lawless’ character saw, and if she’s going to escape from her boxing.
- The relationship between Baltar and Six — are they figments of each others’ imaginations, or is there some sort of telepathy/psychic bond going on?
- Why can’t the skinjobs have their own children? I’m guessing it’s a page from Robotech, and the answer is “twuu wuv.”
- Are Admiral Adama and President Roslin going to get it on?
- Will we get to see who the Cylon god is?
- I’m still holding out for a “classic” Cylon to make an appearance. A gold centurion model acting as the Cylon god would just be fifty pounds of awesome.
Ah well. All good things must come to an end. I just hope that BSG goes out in a hail of machinegun fire and toaster bits.
