Happy Adopt-a-versary Pearl 2013 Edition

I can’t believe another year has gone by. Thanks to Sedagive? working from home and making the dogs home made food, Pearl’s had an outstanding year.

When I met Pearl she was a tiny ball of fluff living by herself in the wonderful Washington Animal Rescue League in Washington, DC. I spent some time with her and wondered why anyone would pass over such a cute little white fuzzball with two black eyes. I paid her a second visit a few days later, this time with Porter and Rosie in tow. They all got along well, and here we are six years later.

If you’re considering adding a pet to your home, please, please please consider adopting a dog that was given up for adoption. Dogs vary from puppies to special needs adults, but they will all share the same trait: gratitude. Pearl has had her challenges (mostly “snacks” and teaching the other dogs to eat poop) but she is a true sweetheart and loves Sedagive?’s kids like they were her littermates.

Love you Pearl, you big goofy moose.

Consider fostering as well. I volunteer with a basset hound rescue here and have fostered a few dogs, giving them a good home until the right home came along. Some stay months, others a few days, but very rewarding
