With ammunition so hard to find and prices so high I have been looking for ways to lower the cost of our civilian defense rifle training. I picked up a Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 rifle, which is roughly AR-15 shaped and shares some common parts and components with the AR-15 platform.
Like any other firearm these days, spare magazines are hard to come by. The 25-round standard capacity magazines are extremely hard to find at retail prices right now. Low capacity 10-round magazines are also difficult to come by, but are more plentiful.
Luckily for those of us in free states, it’s relatively straightforward to remove the little metal block that keeps the 10-round mag from being a 25-rounder.
