I give my impressions of Springfield Armory’s XD45 Compact handgun. It’s functional, reliable, and I shot it well right out of the box. Unfortunately it didn’t conceal well for me in an appendix position, and has moved on to other pastures.

My search for an inexpensive 1911 handgun and a memory from almost two dozen years ago leads me to the Rock Island Armory 1911 Government pistol.
