USA Federal tax refund status checker

If you’re like me and anxiously awaiting a refund from the .gov this year, check out the IRS’s Where’s My Refund? tool. You will need to enter your full social security number, filing status, and your reported refund amount.

Your tax refund is scheduled to be direct deposited on March 16, 2007. If your refund is not credited to your account by March 21, 2007, check with your bank to find out if it has been received. Please wait until March 21, 2007 before you contact us again because we are unable to take any action until then.

My refund is being directly deposited into my bank account. The tool was able to give a hard funds transfer date, with a cut-off date in case I haven’t received my refund by the transfer date.

I am not sure how the system will handle refunds that are mailed. If you’re a Gibberish reader expecting a refund via check, let us know what the tool says!
