P90 Home Fitness Program, end of week eight

I completed session 55 out of 90 yesterday, so I’m technically into week nine now. I can’t wait to hit #60, since I am taking a week off of the normal Phase 3/Phase 4 program to do the special Hawaii edition that made me fall in love with P90 in the first place.

I am bored. Bored of doing the same thing over and over again. I have tried to entertain myself by doing little challenges — how many pushups can I do in the final “burnout” phase of Phase 4 (answer: 30; I do over 100 pushups per session) — that kind of thing. I am not even doing Phase 3/4 full-time. I do a two-session circuit of Phase 3/4 and then Phase 1/2, and I am still burned out.

So, the battle is about 20% physical and 80% mental at this point. It’s a sharp contrast from when I started, when I was all ready to go but my body couldn’t do the stuff in Phase 1/2. Now I think 1/2 is too easy. Once I’m done with my “Hawaiian vacation” I’m going to do six sessions of 3/4 and cut the beginner module out altogether.

My weight has been holding steady at around 183, but as is natural if goes down to 180 and up to 185 depending on my hydration levels, etc. At my size and weight, I disregard my weight until I am under or over that five-pound range. I would probably drop a pound if I shaved all of my hair off.

I plan on posting some more progress pictures at the end of week nine or ten, but here are some measurements to tide you over:

Waist: 36.5″, up 0.5″ from 11/18
Chest: 43.5″, up from 43″
Hips: 36″, unchanged

I am going to tighten my diet down a little bit in the next two weeks, and then really put the screws down for the final thirty days. It takes some pretty serious changes to get my body to go lower than 180 or higher than 185, so let’s see what I can come up with.

I work with a couple of infamous roller derby girls. One of them is starting P90 soon. If it’s alright with you, could I share your blog/contact with her? She might benefit from your knowledge with P90.
